A midwife is part of your life from the very start in Germany: women are legally entitled to the care of a midwife from the very beginning of their pregnancy. Your health insurance in Germany covers the costs for midwife assistance during pregnancy, birth and the post-birth period. However, many pregnant women have problems finding a midwife here due to a shortage of midwives. This is where the Hebammenzentrale Braunschweig can help you: We support pregnant women and their families who are looking for a midwife. We also offer you help in finding courses for birth preparation or postnatal recovery. During our telephone consultation hours, we advise on all questions relating to the midwifery services offered for pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding.

We also offer support to midwives in Braunschweig. We provide advice for midwives who would like to start working in the freelance sector again and we put newly trained midwives in touch with other colleagues and institutions in the healthcare sector and help to simplify the general organisation of their work. The team at the Hebammenzentrale has had many years of experience in working with freelance midwives.

The Braunschweig Midwife Center is financed by the city of Braunschweig. It is sponsored by the Haus der Familie GmbH. The service is aimed at all pregnant women, families and all freelance midwives in Braunschweig.
